On chilly evenings serve up this hearty chilli and warm everyone up on the inside.


1 kg ground beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
500ml beef stock
1 tsp paprika
1 tablespoon chilli powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 can chopped tomatoes
1 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can Kinnie


Heat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is cooked.

Add the salt, beef stock, paprika, chilli powder, cumin, black pepper, and tomatoes. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat to a simmer. Let simmer for 15 minutes, uncovered.

Add the kidney beans and Kinnie. Mix well and cook until the beans are heated and the chilli has thickened.

Serve hot.
